CHAMPAIGN - An interim provost has been selected to take over the number two official on the University of Illinois campus.
Acting Chancellor Barbara Wilson announced Edward Feser will serve as interim provost until someone is hired to fill the job permanently.
Feser is currently dean of the College of Fine and Applied Arts at the campus.
The previous provost, Ilesanmi Adesida, resigned along with former Chancellor Phyllis Wise.
According to the UIUC News Bureau, Feser earned a B.A. in government at the University of San Francisco (1989); a master's in regional planning at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1995); and a doctorate in regional planning, also at UNC (1997). He joined the university in 2004.
