DECATUR- Ella Curie turned 108 years old Tuesday July 19. Her family celebrated her life by reminiscing and sharing stories of the woman who has nearly 90 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Great Granddaughter, Sheri Shaw said, "Big momma was my masters thesis, so I was able to go through pictures with her and kind of retell her story to a whole new generation of people."
Ella Currie told us she has no secret to aging, "I have no secret. I guess the lord just wanted me here for some reason. I don't know, but I'm still here on wheels, but I'm still here."
On her 100th birthday, President Barack Obama sent her a letter designating her birthday Ella Currie day in Decatur, IL.
A living legacy for the many family members.
