MATTOON – Two Lake Land College radio and television broadcast students received recognition at the annual Illinois Broadcasters Association Student Silver Dome Awards.
The 2016 awards were held at Illinois State University. Broadcasting instructor and WLKL station manager, Greg Powers says they were held in conjunction with the student IBA-U conference held in Bloomington. The conference is a one-day event that features workshops and panel discussions designed to expose the college broadcasting students to the world of radio and television.
Caleb Moody, of Altamont, who graduated this past spring, won third place in Best Sales Presentation. Meanwhile, current student Kevin Watson, of Mattoon, placed second in Best Sales Presentation.
Powers says he and other staff are excited about the award-winning work students produce at Lake Land College.
“Students are competing with numerous two-year and four-year institutions throughout the state, and Lake Land College students continue to bring home awards each year,” Powers explains.
