SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) – Police say a man died after sustaining a gunshot to the head.
Close to 11 p.m. on July 31, officers found the 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound in his forehead. He was inside of a building in the 6300 block of Cherylwood Drive.
Medical professionals pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Springfield police say they believe the shooting was accidental. The investigation into the man’s death is ongoing Tuesday.
