PANA, Ill. (WAND) – A man is accused of forcing his way into a house with a gun and making threats.
Officers say it happened after 4 a.m. Monday at a house in the 200 block of Pana’s S. Clark Street. They say Theodore Fleming, 35, went into the house, then entered a physical struggle involving gunshots with 22-year-old Anthony Benavides and 21-year-old Lucas Stephens. They say Fleming ran southbound from that scene.
Police found Fleming 15 minutes later in the 400 block of S. Chestnut St. They say he had gunshot wounds in his right arm. As of 4 p.m. Monday, he was in St. John’s Hospital in Springfield for medical treatment.
Police told WAND-TV they found two guns at the scene of the struggle. Benavides and Stephens are charged with unlawful use and possession of a weapon by a felon, while Fleming is expected to face the same charges ones the hospital releases him. Officers say each of the men had a gun at one point during the fight.
Fleming is in stable condition as of Monday. The other suspects are behind bars in Christian County.Â
