DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The Decatur Fire Department is mourning the loss of one of its own.
The department announced on Facebook that 27-year fire veteran Tom Brauer passed away.
He did not die while on duty.
His funeral arrangements have not been announced yet.
He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, Station 5.
"Tom will be greatly missed. Please keep his family, and the department in your prayers," the department posted.
