CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - Champaign police arrested two teenagers after a shooting sent a 14-year-old boy to the hospital on Tuesday.

The Champaign Police Department told WAND News that officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of N. Third Street just after 5 p.m. following reports of a shooting with injuries.

Officers arrived at the scene and found the boy with potentially life-threatening gunshot wounds. He was sent to the hospital, where police say he is in stable condition. 

Champaign Police say the 14-year-old was outside of an apartment complex when multiple people approached and shot him before running away. 

Overnight, police arrested a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy in relation to the shooting. Officers found two guns during the investigation.

Champaign PD says even though officers made arrests, the investigation is still ongoing.
