RANTOUL, Ill. (WAND) -- Several local teams are advancing in the baseball and softball playoffs and Mt. Zion and Teutopolis are two of them.

The Braves softball team defeated Paris this morning, 4-0 to win the Rantoul Regional Championship.

CHARLESTON, Ill. (WAND) -- Local stars from all over the WAND viewing area took home medals in nearly every event of the boys state track meet on an action-packed Saturday at Eastern Illinois University.

CHARLESTON, Ill. (WAND) -- It was day two of the Illinois boys state track meet and several local athletes punched their tickets to tomorrow's finals.

MacArthur's Micha Reed qualifies for the 800 meter run while, the Generals AJ Lawson is in the finals for high jump.

Lamphier's Khalil Ross finished first in the prelims. He will be a favorite tomorrow.

CHARLESTON, Ill. (WAND) -- The opening day of the boys state track meet was littered with local stars, from short distance kings Makail Stanley (Argenta-Oreana) and Cody Klein (Pana) to Ridgeview hurdler Mason Barr and a slew of high-performing relay teams including GCMS, Pana and Maroa-Forsyth.

LITCHFIELD, Ill. (WAND) -- The St. Teresa girls soccer team has accomplished something no other team in school history has done in girls soccer.

The Bulldogs defeated Carlinville 1-0 and won their school's first sectional championship in girls soccer.
