Our WAND Sports team made it out to four different events. Here are the scores and highlights.

DECATUR, IL. (WAND) -- The Millikin softball team has one of their toughest tests to date in Salisbury University on Thursday. 

As part of the final eight teams alive in the Division III NCAA Tournament, the Big Blue will be traveling to Salem, VA. to take on the Seagulls. With a win, the Big Blue would be just four wins away from claiming a national championship.

MACON, IL. (WAND) -- The Meridian Hawks softball team have had an excellent season so far, and they have no intention of halting it just yet.

Tuesday on the road, they'll face off against LeRoy high school in the 1A Sectional Semifinals, as the Hawks look to continue its journey toward a state championship.

CATLIN, IL. (WAND) -- Gary Spezia is a hurdling expert, teaching kids from all across Central Illinois how to hurdle and run properly over the last 25 years. 

Spezia doesn't charge his kids a penny for his knowledge or efforts. He just asks for something in return, hoping that one day, these same kids will teach others to do what he's shown them to do.

DECATUR, IL. (WAND) -- After three different delays and a push to the next day to finish game two of the NCAA Tournament Super Regional's between Millikin and Wartburg, the Big Blue managed to continue its historic run in this year's NCAA Tournament, taking down the Knights 10-6.

With the win, the Big Blue will travel to Salem, VA. for a matchup with Salisbury University on Thursday at 3 PM CT in the first round of a double-elimination four team bracket.

CHARLESTON, IL. (WAND) -- The IHSA girl's track and field season came to an end on Saturday for 1A, 2A and 3A as student-athletes from all across Central Illinois competed throughout the day, despite several weather delays. 

Two different Central Illinois schools won team relay races as eight different Central Illinois individual athletes won events.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) -- Illini Athletic Director Josh Whitman looks to be staying in Champaign.

Today it was announced that the UI Board of Trustees approved a four-year extension for Whitman that would go through June of 2028. More >>

DECATUR, IL. (WAND) -- Student-athletes, coaches and community members gathered Sunday evening at the First Christian Church to help support Decatur and its chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. 

People heard from various speakers ranging from high school coaches to student-athletes at Millikin, as well as from Big Ten basketball analyst and former Illini basketball player Trent Meacham. More >>

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) -- The Millikin softball team took on Alma College in the NCAA Tournament Regional Championship at the Workman Family Softball Field.

Explosive offense and solid pitching were a constant in the first two games, and it remained for the third matchup as the Big Blue took down Alma College 8-1. More >>

DECATUR, IL. (WAND) -- The Millikin softball team took on Illinois College Saturday afternoon in the NCAA Tournament after claiming their first tournament win since 1994 the day before.

The momentum from that win kept them going as the Big Blue took down their Saturday opponent, Illinois College, 7-0, allowing themselves to advance to the Championship round of this NCAA Tournament region. More >>

MACON, IL. (WAND) -- The CIC Boy's Track and Field meet took place at Meridian high school Tuesday afternoon as student-athletes from across central Illinois gathered to compete in various events.

With sectionals just a week away, this is one of the final opportunities for athletes to hone their craft before the competition really counts. More >>

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) -- The Millikin baseball team finished their regular season with a 26-14 overall record while being 11-7 in CCIW play.

The Big Blue are the two-seed in the conference tournament starting on Wednesday. More >>

DECATUR, IL. (WAND) -- After ending their regular season as CCIW regular season champions with a 32-7 overall record, the Millikin Big Blue softball team found themselves out of the CCIW tournament early. 

Fast forward a couple of days, and the Big Blue are in another tournament, the NCAA Tournament, as an at-large bid where they will host three other teams this weekend. More >>

Despite being the current record holder for Tuscola high school in both the 300-meter and 100-meter hurdle races, the most amazing thing about this young athlete is the fact that she's only a freshman. More >>

DECATUR, IL. (WAND) -- The Millikin Big Blue baseball and softball teams competed Saturday afternoon in the hopes of advancing their seasons. 

The baseball team ended its regular season with a 26-14 record after taking down Elmhurst in a double-header. The Big Blue are riding a three-game win streak as they enter the beginning of their CCIW tournament play next week. Millikin scored 30 runs today, 15 in each game, allowing just five all day.
