DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — A man was denied pre-trial release after Decatur police said he walked up to a child's pet cat and kicked it so hard that it died.
33-year-old Dustin Robinson-Beaty was arrested on August 14 on a charge of aggravated cruelty to animals, according to the Macon County inmate roster.
The Decatur Police Department told WAND News that Robinson-Beaty walked up to a pet cat while the child who owned it was watching, and kicked the cat so hard that it eventually died.
According to court records, Robinson-Beaty was denied pre-trial release on August 17 and remains in the Macon County Jail.
