DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — Police are looking for a suspect after a man was stabbed in Decatur Saturday morning.

According to the Decatur Police Department, officers responded to the intersection of North Church and West Cerro Gordo Streets just after 11:30 a.m. after several people called and reported a stabbing.

Police found a 42-year-old man who had been stabbed in the bicep. A tourniquet was applied to slow the bleeding and he was taken to the hospital, where he got several stitches.

DPD said the man was then booked into jail for violating an order of protection.

According to police, he was not cooperative and told officers he did not know why he was stabbed.

Officers are still looking for a suspect. The department said the suspect is a black man in his 20's, about 5'5" tall and wearing dark clothes.
