Decatur, IL - A Decatur pediatrician is accused of pocketing money. It's a story we first broke here on StormCenter 17. Our investigation uncovered how the doctor has a checkered past.

Dr. Jamie Warnick is accused of health care fraud, sand she appeared in federal court Thursday. Warnick is a long-time Decatur pediatrician, known by many families in Central Illinois.

We've uncovered how Warnick has had medical licenses in other states like Mississippi, Louisiana, and Tennessee.

In 1999 in Mississippi, her medical license was restricted and she lost hospital privileges after her troubles caring for infants. Warnick then headed a children's clinic at St. Mary's Hospital. That's where investigators say Warnick gave free vaccines from the government meant for uninsured children to insured children so she could collect money from insurance companies. Now - she faces that federal charge. If convicted, she could spend up to ten years in prison.

Even with this federal charge and a checkered past, Dr. Warnick is still a licensed doctor in the state of Illinois.
