DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) – A Decatur business catering to classic vinyl and CD’s will close its doors after 32 years on Dec. 31.

G-B’s at 702 E. Eldorado St. posted its closing announcement this week on Facebook. Owners Gary and Bob Laskowski tell WAND News they are ready for retirement. G-B’s will sell any unsold inventory online beginning in early 2020.

Right now the store has about 5,000 records and another 2,000 CD’s. Many of the recordings are classics and vary in price from $3 to $1,000. A copy of one Beatles album had a price tag of $200.

Bob and Gary said they will miss their customers.

“Oh my lord, yes,” Bob told WAND's Doug Wolfe. “We know so many of them by name and some of them we’ve know for the whole time, 32 years we’ve been in business. They’re more like friends than customers.”
