DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - One local man has turned his enjoyment of woodworking and computers into a thriving business.
Brett Morrison, owner of Brett Morrison Custom CNC Woodworking, creates home decor, wedding gifts, crafts, personalized signs, and other works of art right here in Decatur. Morrison says he started this business after the print shop he worked at for three decades was bought out by another shop.
"So after I lost my job, I thought I like wood working, I like computers," said Morrison.
However, one of the biggest challenges Morrison has faced when it comes to operating his business is an unusual one; getting customers to challenge him in the types and numbers of items he can create.
"It's been hard trying to get people to understand that if you see a picture on my Facebook page, that's not all I can do," says Morrison.
