Permanent makeup changing lives

Decatur, Ill. (WAND)- The morning routine for women usually includes some sort of hair and makeup.  But there is a way to help make that morning routines easier and better yet, help those with hair loss issues.  It’s called permanent makeup.  It works especially well for women who have hair loss, whether it be eyebrow or eyeliner.

The makeup industry made a $62 Billion last year.  You have likely heard or seen videos of microblading.  It’s basically tattooing eyebrows, but it’s not done at your average tattoo parlor.

Tess Leckone, who owns Artistic Cosmetics in Decatur says “Permanent makeup can help a lot of people.”  She’s been doing permanent makeup since 1993 and says the needles are different than a tattoo parlor also the pigment is different, smaller molecules.

Abigail Richardson has a hereditary disease, she doesn't have any hair, not even eyebrows or eyelashes.  She says “The first time I got the eyebrows done, it defined the face, where the face stopped and the hair started.  It made me more complete." Microblading only lasts one to two years because it's much finer application.
