Corn & Soybean Harvests Could Be Near 2014 Records

Decatur – If United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) estimates hold we could be in for a record corn and soybean harvest nationally for 2016.

The latest USDA crop report issued this week shows corn production are likely to hit 15.1 billion bushels, up 11% from 2015.  The average yield nationwide will be an estimated 174.4 bushels an acre.  If those numbers are realized it will be the highest yield and production levels on record.

Soybean production is on target for 4.20 billion bushels, up 7% from 2015.  Yields for soybeans are predicted to be a record 50.6 bushels an acre.
