Bob Walls is still impressing on the golf course at 103 years old. Walls looks decades younger and credits his longevity to good genes and staying active. Born in Kansas in 1923, he moved to Omaha, Nebraska, in 1947 after serving in World War II. He took up golf at 74 and now volunteers at the Steve Hogan Golf Course. He fills divots, picks up trash and sometimes plays a hole or two. Walls regularly shoots in the low 30s and continues to work on his game every day.

Ryan Fox capped off an amazing week at the British Open with a finish he won't forget. The 39-year-old from New Zealand made a 12-foot birdie putt on the final hole for a 68 to capture his first major championship. It was only the fifth birdie on the tough closing hole at Royal Birkdale on Sunday. It gave Fox a one-shot victory over hard-luck Cameron Young. The American shot a 64 and waited more than two hours to see if it would hold up. It almost did until Fox kept bouncing back from bogeys and finished with a birdie.

Rory McIlroy has saved one of his best shots at the British Open for Bryson DeChambeau. The world No. 2 didn’t hold back when asked for his thoughts on DeChambeau’s conduct late Friday when the American was involved in a lengthy, heated post-round exchange with rules officials. They were reviewing whether he had inadvertently improved the path of his swing on the fifth hole and DeChambeau was penalized two shots. McIlroy says he's “not particularly fond of” DeChambeau, that his actions were “performative” and “for attention” and that the American was trying to “hold the tournament hostage.” McIlroy shot 1-under 69 in the third round.

Chris Gotterup has won the John Deere Classic for his fourth PGA Tour title in the last 12 months. Gotterup shot a 62 in the final round at the TPC Deere Run. That helped him make up a five-shot deficit. And then he needed some help at the end. Ben Kohles was tied for the lead with Gotterup and in the middle of the 18th fairway. But he pulled his 8-iron into the water and then missed a short putt and took double bogey. Max Homa wound up in second for his best finish in more than three years.

Bob Lawton, an avid golfer at Moweaqua Golf Course, will turn 100 years old Saturday. His love of golf hasn't wavered one bit after all these years.
