A Missouri judge has struck down a series of restrictions on abortion, finding they violated a constitutional amendment adopted by voters in 2024. Among the provisions thrown out in Thursday's ruling are a 72-hour waiting period and rules that kept Planned Parenthood affiliates from prescribing abortion pills to patients in Missouri. Enforcement of some of the restrictions had already been on hold. Abortion rights advocates are encouraged, but this isn't the final word. The state's attorney general is planning an appeal. Voters in November will decide whether to roll back the 2024 constitutional amendment.
