Some young people on Roblox, the popular online gaming platform, have been using a roleplaying game to embody Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers. Users have been staging virtual protests against real-life immigration action via the platform, but others are carrying out immigration raids in the game. A Roblox spokesperson said in a statement that the reenactments of immigration raids are in violation of the platform’s community standards and said the company takes “swift action" against users found to be violating those policies. One expert said the behavior could be a method children are using to process news and seek social support.
