Spanish police say at least 39 people are confirmed dead in a high-speed train collision in the south of the country. The crash occurred Sunday evening when a train from Malaga to Madrid derailed and hit an incoming train. The collision took place near Adamuz, a town in Cordoba province. Authorities are still recovering bodies, and the death toll may rise. The impact was so violent that bodies were found hundreds of meters from the crash site. Authorities said all the survivors had been rescued in the early morning while work remained to recover and identify the dead.
