CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - The Illinois Women's Basketball team will face the Murray State Racers on Tuesday in the ninth edition of the program's Field Trip Day game.
Illinois is coming off its first loss of the season, losing 64-59 to Oregon State on Friday. Berry Wallace led the team with 24 points in a losing effort, and also leads the Big Ten Conference in scoring at 24.3 points per game. The Racers defeated Saint Louis 96-88 on Saturday. Forward Sharnecce Currie-Jelks and guard Halli Poock each led Murray State with 28 points apiece. Those are two players that the Illini should be keeping an extra close eye on.
The Illini are 7-1 in Field Trip Day games, with the most recent coming in Nov. 2024, when Illinois roughed up Le Moyne 94-25, according to Illinois Athletics.
