CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) -- Illinois men's basketball opened up the season 1-0 on Monday and now look to start 2-0 Friday night.
The Illini are now turning their attention to Florida Gulf Coast, Brad Underwood told the media Thursday morning that Andrej hasn't been through a full practice with the team yet but making progress and will be a game time decision Friday night. While Mihilo and Brandon Lee will be out.
He said they are ready for a physical battle under the net as the Eagles pulled down 59 rebounds in their season opener compared to the Illini's 61 against Jackson State.
And despite it being early in the season Underwood thinks they will find out a lot more about the defense in the next couple weeks but they need to continue working on talking and communication on the court especially with the freshman.
The Illini welcome the Eagles to the State Farm Center Friday Nov. 7. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
