(WAND) - Despite trailing at halftime, 31-18, the Porta girls' basketball team outscored Williamsville by 12-points in the third quarter to come back for a road win, 53-47.
Thanks to a tenacious effort by senior Aubrey Vogel and sophomore Regan Heubner to force turnovers, the Bluejays climbed their way back into the game. Vogel scored 14 of her team high 21-points in the second half. With the win Porta improves to 20-5 on the season, while the Bullets fall to 11-13.
In Rochester, the Mt. Zion Braves added another win to their tally to improve to 16-10 with a 40-35 road win over the Rockets (10-16). The Braves close out their regular season with 3-of-4 games against Apollo Conference foes. Mt. Zion currently sits in second place. Rochester will also close out their season in simlilar fashion with CS8 foes MacArthur, Springfield, and Southeast, coming up. The Rockets are 6th in the conference standings.
