Frigid start to the week

DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Happy Monday! Our start to the week has been a frigid one. Yesterday a few areas saw record breaking lows, and this morning, the frigid temperatures continue.

A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect through 8am this morning with temperatures feeling like 15 degrees below zero or less for much of the region. Throughout the day, air temperatures will warm into the upper 20s, but gusty winds will leave us feeling more like single digits and teens throughout the morning and afternoon.

High pressure keeps skies mostly clear today and tonight. Temperatures under clear skies will dip back into the teens. We can expect the high to dominate this first half of our week’s forecast, leaving us mainly dry and partly sunny until rain arrives on Thursday.
