DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - We're headed back to bizarro-world! That means that temperatures will rise at night, then fall by day over the next 12-24 hours.

The combination of thickening clouds and gusty winds returning will be enough to push temps into and through the 40s overnight. However, a cold frontal passage Thursday morning allows temperatures to plummet. Some heavy pockets of rain and a thunderstorm will accompany said front. The wind will be enough to blow unsecured items around, especially during the morning hours when wind gusts can top 40 mph.

Many, if not all, roads will dry off before below-freezing weather returns Thursday night. But it would be safe to exercise caution for an isolated black ice patch.

Stay safe out there, and stay weather-aware.
