DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - We're headed back to bizarro-world! That means that temperatures will rise at night, then fall by day over the next 12-24 hours.Â
The combination of thickening clouds and gusty winds returning will be enough to push temps into and through the 40s overnight. However, a cold frontal passage Thursday morning allows temperatures to plummet. Some heavy pockets of rain and a thunderstorm will accompany said front. The wind will be enough to blow unsecured items around, especially during the morning hours when wind gusts can top 40 mph. Â
Many, if not all, roads will dry off before below-freezing weather returns Thursday night. But it would be safe to exercise caution for an isolated black ice patch. Â
Stay safe out there, and stay weather-aware.Â
