DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Tonight starts tranquil, and that says a lot given the amount of wind we've had to contend with lately. But wait! Another round of gusty wind returns Saturday with gusts topping 30 mph by the afternoon.
The culprit? A compact storm that will bring a combination of rain and snow showers.
It's welcome news anytime we have precipitation given the latest drought monitor. We are struggling, and that's an understatement. However, the amount of precipitation to start off the weekend isn't a whole lot. Snow showers may cover non-paved surfaces at times Saturday as roads remain wet.
To be cautious, give yourself extra time to arrive at your destination. Mind the cold, gusty wind (again!) and enjoy your weekend.
