DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A few bouts of snow got the season off to a wet start.  However, we've seen temperatures averaging over eight degrees above where they should be since Christmas. That shift helped with the development of severe weather on Dec. 28, and more recently, last week.

We all know that averages are the product of extremes. WAND weather is tracking another shift in this winter pattern, one that will feel more like winter.

Air that originated over Siberia is headed our way in pieces. The first installment arrives on Wednesday. More significant cold will follow along with some bands of light snow.

Stay tuned. Winter is back!
