5 things to do this weekend across Central Illinois Dec. 5-7

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The weekend is upon us, and there are plenty of things to do and see across Central Illinois.

Here is a selection of events, markets, concerts and more happening Friday, Dec. 5 to Sunday, Dec. 7!

Wintree Wonderland at White Oaks Mall

It's a Wintree Wonderland! This event features over 45 beautifully decorated Christmas trees created by local designers, schools and scout groups. Visitors can meet Santa, take photos and create crafts at Santa's Workshop.

The celebration also includes art displays, a holiday store for kids, a Gingerbread Playhouse, and Special Event Sundays with activities like Caring Santa, Teddy Bear Toss and a train ride on the A.L. Express.

When: Open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 5 and 6, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 7

Heavenly Holidays Bazaar

Bring your sweet tooth, as Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church will have its Heavenly Holidays Bazaar on Saturday. The event will feature its beloved cookie walk, along with other baked goods and vendors, both returning and new.

When: Saturday, Dec. 6; 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

34th Annual Cookie Walk

The Friends of the Barclay Public Library Cookie Walk returns Saturday at the Illini Park Building. Attendees will enjoy a huge selection of homemade cookies and festive treats, choose their favorites, or grab a pre-packaged box to go.

Proceeds will benefit community programs at Barclay Public Library, and every purchase earns a raffle entry.

When: Saturday, Dec. 6; 9 a.m.

Mistletoe Market

The Mistletoe Market lets local and regional artists, artisans and designers showcase their best locally made goods. A full list of vendors is available online.

Evergreen Wreath Making Workshops

Washington Park Botanical Garden in Springfield will host its annual wreath-making workshops on Saturday. Attendees must bring pruning shears and any other custom decorations for their wreaths.

When: Saturday, Dec. 6; from 9 a.m. to noon, or 1:30-4:30 p.m.
