SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - The Lincoln Library in Springfield is sharing a list of upcoming events.
"Lincoln Library offers a cool place to explore, learn, and have fun," said Lana Shovlin, Lincoln Library’s Public Relations Manager. “All of our programs are free, making it easy for everyone to enjoy a summer filled with discovery!”
Upcoming events include:
- Illinois in the Revolutionary War — July 21 | 6:00-7:15 p.m. Author Tom Emery will explore Illinois' pivotal role in the Revolutionary War, highlighting George Rogers Clark's campaigns, the war's legacy in the state, and its connection to the America 250 commemoration. · Game Master’s Council (NEW!) — July 22 | 5:00-7:00 p.m.
- The Game Master's Council brings together RPG Game Masters to share stories, ideas, and techniques for running engaging tabletop role-playing games in a casual discussion—no gameplay or dice required.
- Lincoln Library Plant Swap — July 25 | 10:15 am-4:00 p.m. Bring healthy plants, cuttings, seedlings, gardening supplies, or gardening books to swap with fellow plant lovers while sharing tips, learning about plant care, and taking home something new!
- Director Series: An Evening to Remember — July 25 | 5:30-7:30 p.m. The Dr. Leon Lewis-Nicol Quartet will deliver a free evening of jazz at Lincoln Library, featuring inspired compositions and performances rooted in West African heritage, Christian beliefs, and the artistry of a celebrated jazz pianist.
