LINCOLN, Ill. (WAND) — The Lincoln Memorial Foundation is hosting a service for those who have died under the care of Lincoln Memorial Hospital or Lincoln Memorial Home Hospice in the past year.

The Service of Remembrance will take place with a Celebration of Life at 1 in the afternoon on Sunday, Sept. 8 at the Woods Cafe Patio on the hospital's campus.

The patients names will be read aloud and guests will have a chance to write a message to their loved one. The messages will be included in the planting of a rose bush in the LMH Healing Garden.

“We hope this service will help people find comfort and peace in their time of healing,” said Dolan Dalpoas, president and CEO of Lincoln Memorial Hospital. “It also provides an opportunity for family and friends to reconnect with hospital and hospice care teams and to meet other families who have experienced loss.”

The service is for those who died between July 1, 2023 and July 1, 2024. And a short reception with refreshments will immediately follow the service.
