March Madness not only has fans on the edge of their seats, but local businesses as well.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — March Madness is nearly here, and fans are just days away from finding out which teams will make it to the dance. But it's not just fans who are on the edge of their seats, but local businesses as well.

Fighting Illini fans have been hitting up the Campustown Game Day Spirit Shop, according to Retail Manager Cory Schumard. 

"Make no mistake about it ... we are a fan store. We're the official fan store for the Fighting Illini. We love playing that role. And when they win, we win," Schumard said.

Schumard said that every time the Illini bring home a win, that's a win for local businesses as well, and they have skin in the game.

"We're a little biased. But, I'm going to have Illinois probably [go] pretty far in my brackets," Schumard said.
