(WAND) - 800 pounds of pork belly sold locally has been recalled.
Gourmet Trends Kitchen, LLC, a Sheldon, Ill. (Iroquois County) establishment, is recalling approximately 800 pounds of “Pork Belly for Grilling” product due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen, the Illinois Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Meat and Poultry Inspection announced.
The product contains wheat, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label.
The “Pork Belly for Grilling” products were produced on various dates over the last year. The production date is listed on the product above the name, and the following production dates are included in the recall:
04/16/25 10/22/25
05/07/25 10/28/25
05/28/25 10/29/25
08/20/25 09/10/25
11/28/25 02/04/26
Less than 50 pounds of this two-pound product were sold at Fresh International Market (Champaign location only) and Caddy Shack (Sheldon, Ill.). The rest was distributed directly by Gourmet Trends Kitchen.
The issue was discovered during a routine inspection visit to the establishment.
No one has reported getting sick.
