DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A teen was shot in the ankle Saturday afternoon, according to police.

Decatur Police said at 2:16 p.m. officers received several calls about shots fired in the area of S. Nelson Blvd. and Rt. 36.

According to police, two men dressed in all black wearing masks began shooting at a white car near the intersection of 22nd and Wood Street.

Officers say a male teen arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to his ankle. His injuries are considered non-life threatening.

The suspects are believed to have left the area in a dark SUV.

Decatur Police said they are thankful for the people who reported the shooting and provided officers with detailed information. They ask anyone with information to contact Decatur Police at 217-424-2711 or Crime Stoppers at 217-423-TIPS.

Decatur and Macon County Area Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward of up to $2,500 when a felony arrest is made due to the information provided.
