DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — Macon County Fair has announced a few changes in response to the shot fired Friday night at the fairgrounds.Â
Macon County Sheriff's office says, the shot was fired around 8:45 p.m. Friday.

One person incurred minor injuries after being knocked down in the crowd.
In a Facebook post early Saturday, Macon County Fair said, Due to the seriousness of this incident, it was decided that all fair activity was to be suspended immediately out of concern for the safety of all fairgoers. Our foremost priority is the safety of everyone.
The following changes are now in effect at the fair:
- Increase of law enforcement presence on the grounds
- Carnival will begin at noon on Saturday only and will shut down at 8pm on Saturday and Sunday both. Armbands will be split into two sessions each day at $25 a session. Saturday from noon to 4pm and 4pm to 8pm. Sunday sessions will be 1pm to 4pm and 4pm to 8pm.
- Patrons 17 years old and under must be accompanied by a legal guardian
- Southeast fair gate will be closed for the remainder of the 2024 fair
Livestock and grandstand events will continue as scheduled.Â
