Forsyth, IL – Battling colon cancer, from the inside out.

A group of Millikin University students informed the community about colon cancer in a unique way -- with a 40-foot long display of a colon.

If you have walked into the Hickory Point Mall over the past few days, you could not have missed "Coco, the Colossal Colon".  The 4-foot tall, 40-foot long model colon has been at the mall since Thursday in order to help educate people about colon cancer and how to prevent the disease.  The Millikin students say colon cancer is a topic that is not discussed enough.

"It isn't something they hear about on an everyday basis," says Audrey Spelde, a senior at Millikin University, of the general public.  "Colon cancer is the second largest cancer killer in the United States, so it's a fairly big problem, but it's something a lot of people don't know about, because it's kind of an uncomfortable topic to talk about, so we have Coco out here to get people to openly talk about this topic."
