DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - Danville High School will be in session Friday after a bomb threat was received Thursday.Â
The Danville Police Department said officers responded to the school around 7:30 p.m. Thursday night after staff told them of a possible bomb threat.
The Danville School District said the threat was discovered on social media.Â
Danville police and the University of Illinois K-9 Bomb Unit searched Danville High School for hours, both inside and outside the building. They determined there were no threats or dangers.Â
The District said, "The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority. We will continue to work closely with local authorities to ensure our schools remain safe learning environments, and there will be an additional police presence at Danville High School today as an added precaution."Â
Police said they are actively investigating to identify who made the threat.Â
