DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) – A new state-of-the-art driver's license facility is now operating in Champaign. The DMV+ office is located in a renovated Secretary of State facility, which first opened in 2015.
Customer service will be improved with employees cross-trained to handle most DMV tasks from issuing driver's licenses and ID renewals, to Real ID issuance and sticker/plate sales.
New features include allowing businesses to obtain certified copies of business records, filing documents, including articles of incorporation and amendments for corporations and various types of LLCs, and filing trademarks with the Illinois Secretary of State.
Many of those services required a visit to Chicago or Springfield and can now be handled at the office at 2012 Round Barn Road in Champaign.
The Champaign DMV+ office handles about 335 total transactions each day.
