DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Decatur Public Schools said several fights occurred between fans during the MacArthur varsity football game on Friday. 

According to DPS Communications, the fights happened during and after the game. 

DPS stated that Decatur police and the Macon County Sheriff's Office helped the district address the incidents "quickly and efficiently."

It is unclear how many people were involved, or how many were students. 

The district is currently reviewing video footage of the fights to determine next steps. 

Additional protocols will be put into place to ensure safety and security at upcoming DPS events.
