DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) —  The B-29 Superfortress is a bomber which served the United States in World War II. One of them is at the Decatur Airport this weekend for the Wings and Wheels show.
Wings and Wheels is a two-day event showcasing cars and planes, and will also be featuring a special drone and firework show.
There were more than 4,000 B-29s produced. Only two, including the one in Decatur, are still flying. This particular aircraft is named Doc. It was part of the Seven Dwarfs Squadron. It sat for 42 years rotting in the Mojave Desert before it was rescued and restored.
It takes six people to fly B-29 DOC. Two are pilots, one is a flight engineer, and three are scanners.

A limited number of people can fly on the plane each day. There are 7 tickets available for the back of the plane at $600 each. Three seats behind the pilots are $1,200 each and one in the bombardier seat at $1,500.
The entry fee is $5 dollars a day. Children under 2 are free. The show starts each day at 2pm and continues until dusk.
