SPRINGFIELD – Governor Rauner spoke to members of the Springfield Chamber of Commerce Tuesday about his continued push for business reforms in the state.
During his time in office, the Governor has said he will do what it takes to improve the state’s business and economic outlook, which has included a stand-off over revenue versus expenses.
That push includes workers comp reform, primarily causation, which the Governor says Attorney General Lisa Madigan has supported as well. Rauner went on to say that small businesses are some of the most important contributors to the state.
“Small business owners are the backbone of all of our prosperity. A majority of the people of Illinois either own a small business or work in a small business. That’s a fact,” Governor Rauner says.
He also added that two-thirds of all new jobs created every year are created by small businesses.
