DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Crossing Healthcare will continue to provide recovery services on an outpatient basis. However, they have officially decided to end their residential treatment service starting Monday.

With the recent announcement, Heritage Behavioral Health Services has reached out to remind everyone that Crossing helped get individuals who needed help into proper treatment in the past.

Heritage will now assist individuals in areas that Crossing is unable to serve.

“We do have a residential program that we can, serve individuals that substance abuse needs. And so we just want to make sure that, in light of some of the challenges Crossing is facing, we are great partners with them. And we appreciate them. But we do have beds available here, at Heritage,” said President and CEO of Heritage, Mary Garrison.

Despite Crossing stating they have 8 open positions available on their campus, 30 staff members have been affected.

In response, Heritage has extended an offer to those staff members who are struggling at this time.

“We have a lot of positions open in our agency. And so we really encourage any crossing staff that they did lose their positions, to please check us out. We’re all in this together and doing the great work, and we’d love to have the opportunity to speak with folks if they’re interested in coming to Heritage”

Garrison adds that Heritage experiences an increase in people in need during the holidays.

Although times may be stressful, she wants to remind the community that Heritage will always be ready to offer support, no matter what.

“So from here on out, today on again, we’ll probably see bit of an increase, because we are the only 28 at residential program in the area, and in our community. So again, we’re here to help. “

If you're struggling and looking for support, Garrison welcomes everyone to come and visit heritage at 151 North Main in Decatur.
