SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum (ALPLM) announced Wednesday that its executive director will step down at the end of 2026.Â
ALPLM said that Christina Shutt will step down after five years at the end of her term.
Shutt has been with ALPLM since 2021 and is the longest-serving director in its history.Â
"I am immensely proud of all that we have accomplished together at the ALPLM over the last five years. Alongside our dedicated volunteers and community, we have achieved the goals I set upon coming to Springfield to strengthen the organization through meaningful growth and innovation in order to position the ALPLM for future success," Shutt said in a statement.
ALPLM's Board of Trustees, along with Gov. JB Pritzker, will select a new executive director, who will need to be confirmed by the Illinois Senate.
