MATTOON, Ill. (WAND) - An apprenticeship coordinator at Lake Land College recently earned a national credential from the US Department of Labor. 

Lake Land College said that Lesa Allsop received a Journeyworker certificate after finishing an apprenticeship program through the college and workforce development nonprofit WayZ-USA.

"As I look ahead, I am excited to continue growing apprenticeship programs across all sectors where Lake Land College can make an impact and create opportunities for others to learn, grow and succeed," Allsop said in a statement. 

According to the college, the certificate allows recipients to work in all US states within their industry.
