DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - More than 25,000 customers are without power following severe weather Thursday across Central Illinois.Â
At 6 a.m. Friday, PowerOutage.com reported the following counties with outages:
- Sangamon County - 6,100
- Logan County - 900
- De Witt County - 900
- Macon County - 3,200
- Champaign County - 4,700
- Vermilion County - 16,000
- Christian County - 400
- Moultrie County - 1,200
- Iroquois County - 2,800
- Coles County - 3,255
- Douglas County - 500
- Piatt County - 1,600
Strong storms produced several tornado warnings Thursday afternoon into the evening hours. Â
At their peak, outages were above 35,000.
Thursday's storms produced damaging winds, heavy rains, and possible tornadoes. The storms followed a round of severe weather late Wednesday night.Â
An estimated time for power to be fully restored is unknown.Â
