MAHOMET, Ill. (WAND) — Sleep in Heavenly Peace in Mahomet reached 1,000 beds delivered this week.
The organization has provided beds to kids ages three to 17 for two and a half years, giving every child a comfortable place to sleep.
Each bed takes around 15 minutes to build, and the community comes together to help make it happen.
Chapter President Larry Uphoff said the impact on the community has been enormous.
"The kids love getting them, and the parents love that the kids are getting them," Uphoff said. "We're excited to have the opportunity to bring the community together to make it happen."
