DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — Sarah Hornback of Loda was tabbed the 2024 WAND Renew-A-Ride winner.

Sarah Hornback reacts to being selected as the winner of the 2024 WAND Renew-A-Ride.

WAND News Anchor Sean Streaty surprised Hornback at Sam Leman of Champaign on Thursday. She was presented the keys to a brand new 2024 Jeep Compass by Sam Lehman Auto General Sales Manager Brian Sexton. 

Hornback is a volunteer EMT and is active in Lindsey's Angels, a group at her church that helps families at Christmastime. And, her pastor is the one who nominated her.

She is a single mom of three boys and her vehicle recently broke down. She's been using her mother's vehicle when possible. 

WAND received more than 1,300 nominations for this year's Renew-A-Ride program.
