SULLIVAN, Ill. (WAND) —A man killed in a Moultrie County crash Monday morning has been identified.

Aaron Jones, a 26-year-old from Mattoon, was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:27 a.m. according to the Moultrie County Coroner.

Illinois State Police troopers were called to Illinois Route 121 at County Road 1150N in Sullivan just before 2:30 a.m. 

Police said this was a two-vehicle, head-on fatal crash, involving a Ford pickup truck and a Ford sedan.

The other driver was transported to a hospital with injuries.

In a Facebook post, First Christian Church of Sullivan said that Jones was a band teacher and the Eastern Illinois University Department of Music said that he was an alum.
