EFFINGHAM, Ill. (WAND) - Illinois State Police and Division of Patrol Troop 9 and Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 8 are investigating reports of vehicular endangerment in Effingham and Shelby counties after objects were thrown from overpasses on Interstate 57.

Multiple vehicles have been damaged.

The incidents have happened over the past week. They are being treated as cases of vehicular endangerment, a Class 2 felony under Illinois law.

ISP is asking anyone with information or anyone who sees suspicious activity in the area of I-57 near overpasses between Effingham and Sigel to call them.
