1 displaced after Tuesday morning fire in Decatur

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A woman is dead after a fire broke out in her home Saturday morning.

Decatur Fire Department arrived to 1724 N 33rd St. at 6:51 A.M. Saturday morning. The single story residential home had smoke and fire showing from the front. A neighbor told fire crews an occupant was inside. Initial crews extinguished the fire in the front room and performed a search, locating a victim in the hallway. The fire was controlled within minutes of the first fire crews arrival.

Two animals were removed from the home, one of the was revived by the PET oxygen mask. 

Karla A Dillin was in the residence at the time of the fire. She did not survive her injuries sustained in the fire. 

The fire is under investigation in cooperation with the Decatur Police Department.
