In fact, two thirds of all engagement ring sales are round cut, with the classic solitaire setting being the most popular.
However, the survey finds that engagement ring trends vary by region.
For example, the oval cut diamond is trending in Chicago. As for couples in Los Angeles, they lean toward the vintage inspired marquise cut.
