SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — A stabbing death investigation is underway in Springfield.
Police say, they were called to the 3000 block of Shadowfax just after midnight Sunday morning. When police arrived they found a 51 year old woman with multiple stab wounds.
She was taken to Springfield Memorial Hospital and did not survive.
The woman's 16 year old son was taken to police department and he was then arrested.
He is facing several charges including, first degree murder, aggravated domestic battery, aggravated battery, and unlawful use of a weapon.
He was taken to a juvenile detention facility.
